While You Wait — Do This First

Burst or leaking pipe: Shut off the main water valve — usually at the meter near the street, or where the line enters the house. Every Prodigy visit includes showing you where yours is.

Sewage backup: Stop running water anywhere in the house — every flush and load of laundry makes it worse. Keep kids and pets away from affected areas.

No heat in a freeze: Check the breaker and thermostat batteries first. Open cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls and drip faucets to protect pipes while you wait.

No AC in extreme heat: Check the breaker and filter. Close blinds, run fans, and don't set the thermostat drastically lower — it can't cool faster.

Suspected gas leak: Leave the house first, then call — from outside. Don't flip switches on the way out.

What Counts as an Emergency?

If water is going where it shouldn't, heat or cooling is gone in dangerous weather, or you can't use your plumbing at all — that's an emergency and we run it like one. If it can safely wait for morning, we'll tell you that too and save you the after-hours visit.
